Roots & Resilience: Bloom – Art Therapy Open House – June 6, 2026 – 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM – 111 E 5600 S Suite 200, Murray, UT

What to Expect

Our open house is a chance to step inside our space, meet our clinical team, and experience firsthand what art therapy and creative healing actually look and feel like. The afternoon is relaxed and welcoming — part open studio, part conversation, part community gathering.

Our clinicians will each lead a short interactive session on their area of practice. Between sessions, the space stays open. Art-making materials are available throughout the afternoon — participation is always welcome, and always optional. Some people come to make something; others come to watch, listen, and ask questions. Both are exactly right.

Light refreshments will be provided.

Afternoon Schedule

11:15 AM — Art Therapy & EMDR | Jonelle Edwards, ACMHC, ATR-P

Jonelle offers trauma-informed care through the integration of clinical art therapy and EMDR. Her session explores how these two approaches work together to support healing — and how creative expression can reach what words sometimes cannot.

12:00 PM — Yoga & Somatic Wellbeing | Kristina MacCaughan, LCMHC, ATR-P

Kristina's clinical practice draws on art therapy and the full tradition of yoga — including its somatic, philosophical, and mindfulness dimensions. Her session explores how nervous system awareness and embodied practice support mental health and emotional regulation.

12:45 PM — Creative Expression & Emotional Resilience | Alexis Izatt, ACMHC, ATR-P

Alexis works with individuals and families exploring creativity as a path toward resilience and growth. Her session focuses on how expressive arts support emotional regulation and help people connect with their own inherent capacity for healing.

1:30 PM — Intermodal Expressive Therapies | Amber Scheid, Art Therapy & Counseling Graduate Student, Practicum

Amber brings a multimodal approach to her work, drawing on visual art, sound, and somatic awareness as interconnected pathways to expression and wellness. Her session introduces intermodal expressive therapies — and the ways different creative forms can open what a single modality might not reach.

Doors open at 11:00 AM. Open studio time and informal networking follow each session.

Who Should Come

Anyone curious about art therapy, creative healing, or mental health support is warmly welcome — whether you're exploring options for yourself, a family member, or someone you support professionally. No art experience is needed, and no commitment is required.

We also extend a warm invitation to healthcare providers, counselors, educators, and community professionals. We'd love to connect, share what we do, and learn about your work.

What Is Clinical Art Therapy?

We believe healing is a creative process — and that every person carries an inherent capacity for clarity and growth. Clinical art therapy integrates the creative process with psychotherapeutic techniques to support emotional wellbeing, self-expression, and resilience. It offers a way to express, witness, and work through experiences that words alone don't always reach. Art therapy is meaningful for people across many life stages and circumstances, and artistic training is never a prerequisite.
